History: Previously Palampur was a part of local Sikh Kingdom but later on it came under the British. You would be amazed to know that Palampur has got its name from the local word "pulum' means lots of water.

Here you can visit fine specimens of colonial architecture or take a visit to tea factory.Avery important landmark of Palampur is St. John's church, Bundla Chasm is there if you are in a mood of having a little walk.Neogal Park will give you a breathtaking view of the Dhauladhar Range. Other attractions are wooded areas, you can also check pottery and local handicrafts.

How to get there: Maranda is the closest railway station at a distance of 2 km from Palampur, bus station in in the south of main bazaar. Also You can hire a taxi or cab to reach Palampur.
